iDevAffiliate is a well-established, industry-leading affiliate program software. I don't know if there is any accurate way to rank the top affiliate software, but iDevAffiliate is definitely a top player in this market. Perhaps that's because the company's been around since 1999, which is practically forever in the Internet marketing business. If you are looking for the security of knowing that your affiliate software has is successfully by thousands of other businesses, then iDevAffiliate is a popular choice. iDevAffiliate also gets high marks for having an extensive array features – though, of course, this means that it will take you a bit of time to learn about them all. But don’t worry, iDevAffiliate offers a wealth of information to help you out: a quick setup guide, a knowledge base stocked with articles, a video training library, and help desk (with a ticketing system).

Pros

iDevAffiliate has a lot of versatility in terms of commission structures, it integrates easily with PayPal and shopping carts, and can be used with any type of website. It gives your affiliates real-time reporting and lots of neat graphs and charts to help them track their performance. You can also communicate with your affiliates easily via iDevAffiliate's email feature. Your banners and text links are well-organized in their marketing tools section. It also allows you to generate text ads and offer them to your affiliates. Google Adsense has proved the power of text ads for attracting clicks and generating revenue – they are certainly a worthwhile tool for your affiliate program. Cons

For a software that has so many options and features, iDevAffiliate is well laid-out but it will take some time to learn. The training guide will be an absolute must. This screen-shot of the busy admin panel shows what I mean – there is a LOT to learn. One thing that bothers me about iDevAffiliate is that is has so many optional add-on modules plug-ins requiring extra fees. For example, the highly beneficial SEO-friendly links module alone costs $99.99 – the same price as the iDevAffiliate itself.

Then there is the Joomla! plugin, the commission alerts, and many more. Installation costs $45 (though step-by-step instructions are provided so if you are somewhat tech-savvy, you should be able to self-install). On the other hand, it is certainly possible to run an affiliate program with just the standard version and no add-ons. It really depends on your business needs.

Cost

iDevAffiliate is available by license or in a hosted version. The one-time license fee is $99.99, which includes one year of upgrades. (If you want upgrades after that, you pay $89 per year.) They will host your licensed affiliate program for you  for only $5 a month. A hosted version of iDevAffiliate costs $79.99 plus $29.99 per month (this includes installation). There are many optional add-ons and upgrades available.

Recommendation

iDevAffiliate is a solid, quality software coming with all the features you would expect, plus a few more. Based on its long-standing reputation, iDevAffiliate is a serious contender in the affiliate program software market. Before buying, compare to JROX-JAM and PostAffiliatePro.
